Technical Sales Manager
For our Technical Sales Manager vacancy, we are looking for a technical expert with strong commercial affinity. You work closely with the Sales Managers and take responsibility for the technical content within the commercial process. You analyze customer requests and assess technical complexity and risks. You also develop innovative machine concepts and translate these into commercially attractive proposals. You convince the customer with your technical solutions and gain their trust through your expertise and thorough understanding of the subject matter.





What you'll be doing
To map out customer requirements, you engage in discussions with the customer together with our Sales Managers. You contribute to defining the scope and analyzing risks. You then translate the technical customer requests, ranging from process studies to a complete and complex machine, into a commercially viable and technically substantiated concept. You also prepare cost calculations, while keeping the customer’s budget in mind.
After an order has been placed, you are responsible for transferring the project to the IMS project team. Throughout the entire realization of the project, you remain a sparring partner for our engineers and critically assess the concept to ensure that the machine is built within the defined scope and the agreed customer expectations.

You bring
- University level of thinking and working (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics)
- At least 5 years of work experience analyzing and translating complex customer automation requirements into technical proposals
- International experience is a plus
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written; command of German is a plus
- Analytical, results-oriented, strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel frequently (20–40% of your time)

Your work as a Technical Sales Manager
In long-term sales processes, you act as a technical sparring partner for both our Sales Managers and our customers. You combine technical, commercial, and strategic insight in one role. Every day, you work on innovative and challenging projects with significant technical depth.
Within the Sales Team, you collaborate with other Technical Sales Managers and Sales Managers. You also work closely with the IMS Marketing Manager and the Sales/Management Assistant. You report to the Commercial Director.
