Software Engineer
Are you the resourceful troubleshooter who doesn’t walk away from a challenge when it comes to software, and do you enjoy not only solving software issues but also further developing the software in our high-tech machines? If so, we’re looking for you!
You will be part of a close-knit team, and while your colleagues often resolve issues on-site with customers, you provide remote support from Almelo. That is why customer-friendliness is one of your core competencies.
Of course, you are not going to work by yourself, because at IMS you can always rely on your colleagues from other engineering departments as well as non-engineering departments. At IMS, we place a high value on collaboration. Your technical insight and innovative approach ensure that our systems continue to function optimally worldwide.

What you'll be doing
We have a diverse range of clients all over the world, and you are the key to success whenever complex malfunctions occur in our machines at client sites. You typically work from our modern office in Almelo, though occasionally you also work on-site. You view every challenge as an opportunity to make existing software even smarter and more efficient.
You primarily work with Beckhoff (TwinCat 2&3) and occasionally with Siemens; knowledge of higher-level programming languages is a plus. You have the freedom to fully utilize your creativity and technical insight. No two days are the same; you switch quickly between providing remote support, optimizing customer processes, and implementing improvements, always keeping the end result and customer satisfaction in mind.

You bring
- Completed Mbo+ or HBO education (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Control Engineering, Technical Informatics, Embedded Software, or similar)
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position
- Knowledge and experience with PLC software (Beckhoff and Siemens)
- Experience with programming in higher-level programming languages is a plus
- Good command English, both spoken and written
- A service-oriented and solution-oriented attitude; where others see challenges, you see opportunities
We offer
- Attractive salary of € 3,800 – € 6,000 gross per month (depending on your knowledge and experience), based on full-time employment
- 32 – 40 hour working week, allowing you to maintain a perfect work-life balance
- 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days with a full-time employement
- Opportunity to follow training courses and classes related to the position
- Opportunity to work flexibly, including one day a week from home
- IMS in motion: sporting outings, fun events, and affordable company fitness
- Modern company canteen offering fresh products daily
- Once you are a permanent employee, you are eligible for a lease bike
In short, an environment where you can get the most out of yourself and your career.
Your position in the organization
Your workplace is located at our Service department, and you will report to one of our Service Coordinators. They are your direct supervisors. The hierarchical manager is the Operations Director.
If the initial interviews go well for both sides, we recommend that you shadow a colleague for a day so you can get a good sense of both the role and your immediate coworkers.

“
When you enjoy analytical work, can maintain composure under pressure, and don’t mind working within tight deadlines, this is the job for you.
